Time Out says

[Sponsored]Explore the Hepburn Shire with a winter literary festival

Winter is the season for mulled wine, warm woollen sweaters and reading books by log fires. The good people of Hepburn Shire certainly received that memo, hosting a literary festival in August every year. The Words in Winter event for 2018 will take place from August 17 to 26 but there's a few things to look out for before then.

Words in Winter is a festival of stories presented by local and guests, where you'll experience poetry, music, theatre, exhibitions, children's events and workshops. There's events across the shire so it's the perfect excuse to discover more of the surrounding towns, including Daylesford, Trentham, Newstead, Clunes, Maryborough and Creswick.

The festival will be officially launched at 6pm on May 18 with drinks and literary readings at the Woodshed, Daylesford. It's free to attend but bookings are essential. You can also join in the fun pre-festival by getting a team together for trivia on the night of July 21. Tickets are $10 with all proceeds going towards Words in Winter 2018.
