When was the last time you dressed up and sang to apple trees in the dark? One lucky Time Out reader will win the ultimate Tassie getaway for two to celebrate Willie Smith’s Cider annual Huon Valley Mid Winter Festival, running July 14 to 16.

Festivalgoers can look forward to a wild pagan celebration in the green, frosty hills of Tasmania’s Huon Valley, located 25 minutes south of Hobart. Its festivities have roots in the ancient English tradition of ‘wassailing’ – singing to the apple trees and banging on drums to scare away evil spirits and ensure a strong crop.

You can look forward to watching the Burning Man go up in flames on Friday night and brace for an overload of fire, feasting and folklore across the weekend as festivalgoers celebrate winter at Willie Smith’s Apple Shed.

The winning Time Out subscriber gets:
- 2 x return flights from Melbourne to Hobart
- 2 x weekend passes to Huon Valley Mid-Winter Festival
- 5 x free ciders per night, per guest
- 3 nights accommodation at Montacute
- Return bus tickets from Hobart to the festival

(Total prize value is $1,300)

For your chance to win, simply fill out your details below and tell us your favourite cider flavour before Thursday June 22.
