Sure, we spend most of our time at The American Museum of Natural History gawking at the gigundo dinosaurs, but a cool new undersea exhibit is coming to town that you'll definitely want to explore as well. In 2017 (with the opening of National Geographic Encounter: Ocean Odyssey) and now 2018 with AMNH's new exhibit, "Unseen Oceans," NYC will now offer more insight into our blue planet than ever before.

"Unseen Oceans" gives visitors a peek into the life of undersea creatures through the world's most incredible technology: teeny robots and radio transmitters, high-definition imaging and miniaturization. They'll learn about things like great white shark travel patterns, how the worlds largest volcano formed and even why microscopic plankton drift with the currents, and they'll get to meet whales, sharks, giant squid and other creatures via a virtual submersible theater.

Visit the exhibit starting March 12, 2018 (running through January 6, 2019), and in the meantime, explore our favorite children's museums and some of our other favorite family attractions.
