There's an extra-sweet deal rolling into town, and it's all in celebration of everyone's favorite locomotive.

Blue Marble is pulling out all the stops for Thomas the Tank Engine's 73rd birthday, and NYC youngsters will have no trouble partying at the Industry City event. Parents, you might even find yourself craving a scoop of the sweet treats yourself.

From 1–4pm on May 12, the store will offer hungry party-goers a chance to pay homage to Thomas with Blue Marble’s #1 Blue Engine Birthday Special. There's no reason to be blue when it comes to this tasty treat. The organic scoops include blue-colored vanilla ice cream topped with baby blue sprinkles—do that train proud, folks!

The fun doesn't stop with ice cream, though. Those who attend the Thomas social will also have the opportunity to pick up some swag. The first 73 customers will receive a Thomas mini train to take home and commemorate the celebration. (Sure beats a goody bag, huh?)

If you and the family aren't able to arrive early, don't sweat it. There are plenty of other features to keep the kiddos entertained, such as a craft station especially designed for visitors who want to make a little something for Tommy. Plus, there will also be an opportunity to try out cool Thomas toys—a winning accompaniment to ice cream.

Rain or shine, the party will go on. The event will take place at Industry City Courtyard ¾, 237 36th St or Industry City Studio in Building 3, should the weather be wicked. Happy Birthday, Thomas!
