Enjoy free admission on Luna Park's opening day in 2019

Some of our favorite Coney Island activities are courtesy of Luna Park—taking the plunge on the Cyclone, soaring to the top of Astro Tower and, of course, playing games and vying for a jumbo-sized stuffed animal.

The beloved Brooklyn amusement park will open for the 2019 season on April 6, and similarly to 2018, Luna Park will offer a super-sweet deal to celebrate the new year of thrills ahead. According to the amusement park's Instagram post, visitors can enjoy free admission to the grounds on opening day! No need to tell us twice!

However, there is a catch. Patrons will receive free admission, but they'll be required to make a $10 donation toward Children of Promise, NYC, which is a non-profit that works alongside children of incarcerated parents in order to promote safety and help kids break free of crime.

Not only can you make the most out of one of your favorite things to do in spring, but you can give back in the process. We'll definitely consider this a win-win. Last year—for the first time ever—Luna Park donated 90 percent of the proceeds from the opening day to its partner charity, the Mayor's Fund, in order to directly support Girl Scout Troop 6000, which works with children in the NYC shelter system.

What's sweeter than a fun day at one of the best kids' amusement parks in NYC and helping a local cause? We'll see you there!
