Ready your wheels! Skaters and BMX bikers will soon be able to practice their moves at Red Hook's debut skate park, which will be accessible for all ages and abilities.

The NYC Parks Department just revealed its plans at a community board meeting, and there are some shred-worthy features in store for the Brooklyn nabe. This debut skate park—which will feature a half pipe, wall ride, snake run, rails and other amenities—will be constructed on the home of Harold Ickes Playground, according to a presentation from the NYC Parks Department. Do you have your moves ready?

If some of your kids are ready to channel their inner Tony Hawk but others are less inclined to hit the half pipe, rest assured there will be something for the non-skaters, too. The park will also include climbing boulders, game tables and benches where park goers can catch a breather.

This will be a welcomed addition to the Brooklyn community, but skaters shouldn't fasten their helmets just yet. The estimated $3 million project will be completed in 2021, according to the Parks Department's presentation. Once Community Board 6 gives the green light (which they're expected to do later this month according to The Brooklyn Paper), next month will be dedicated to finding a contractor to make the dream a reality.

It's going to be an epic place to practice those kick flips! To learn more about the project, visit the Parks Department website
