Hooray! Brooklyn’s favorite ice cream spot gets another location

Ample Hills has scooped its way into the hearts of New Yorkers since 2011, and now the fan-favorite is taking its creamy goodness to a new Brooklyn location. Needless to say, we’re ready to celebrate this news with a healthy dose of butter pecan brittle.

The chain is set to open at 192 Prospect Park West this fall, which was once the home of a ‘30s ice cream shop. It’s only fitting that Ample Hill claims the territory and attempts to recreate that old-school ambiance.

“It seems like a natural fit for us to perpetuate the legacy of a place where people can come together and enjoy ice cream with their friends and family. We started the company with an ice cream cart in Prospect Park, and it's a dream come true to have our business come full circle with this historic location,” Ample Hill’s owners Brian Smith and Jackie Cuscuna said in a statement, according to Patch.

This ice cream paradise almost ended in controversy, as the original plans for the vacant space—once home to Circles restaurant—included condominiums, an idea residents didn’t support. Fortunately for Brooklynites in the area, Ample Hills will provide a throwback shop that even includes rooftop views, according to Brooklyn Paper.

That’s not all visitors can look forward to in a few months. The shop’s neighbor, Pavilion Theater, will reopen later this year. Ice cream and a movie, anyone?

The creamery is about more than just a sweet treat. Its unique flavors, classes, parties and overall sense of community make the spot one you cannot resist. Ample Hills, we’re ready for ya.
