Is there anything more delightful than biting into a delicious macaron? Giving back in the process certainly makes the dessert taste even sweeter.

Mar 20 marks the first day of spring, but more importantly Macaron Day. On this glorious occasion, eager and hungry visitors can head to a local participating store to snag a free treat. Oui, oui— there's no need to tell us twice!

WOOPS! in NYC is one of the many bakeries across the country handing out freebies on this fantastic holiday. Each store will donate 200 macarons at no charge to those who stop by, so you're going to want to hustle if you have a sweet tooth. Head to the Official Macaron Day website and check out the participating locations to see which venue is closest to you.

While this is certainly a cause for celebration, the message behind the event is certainly worthy of applause. In addition to the freebies, a percentage of the macarons sold in store will go toward local charities. The selected organization for NYC is City Harvest, a charity that focuses on food rescue, distribution and education in order to end hunger in neighborhoods throughout the five boroughs.

So what are you waiting for? We'll see you in line!
