NYC’s love affair with video games is alive and well, and we’re certainly reaping all the benefits.

On the heels of its successful “Multibowl” exhibit—which gives viewers the opportunity to play vintage video games—the Museum of the Moving Image is providing visitors with another opportunity to show their skills and passion thanks to IndieCade East 2018, a three-day long festival dedicated to independent games. You’ll have to put down those controllers, though—this event will gone faster than a New York minute.

From Feb 16–18, museum goers will be treated to talks and workshops, among other activities, from those who love video games—everyone from designers and developers to the players themselves. Need a new game on your radar? Excited to take a peek at unreleased options? IndieCade will surely catapult you to video game all-star status.

According to reps from the museum, there are plenty of kid-friendly options to enjoy such as presentations by the NYU Game Center (Saturday from 2–6 pm), UCB Improv for Game Designers (Saturday from 3–5 pm) among other events.

A full-festival pass costs $125 ($100 for students and seniors). Day passes are also available on the museum’s website. Don’t forget to mark your calendars, as “Multibowl” closes the day before IndieCade.

May the best player win!
