Dinosaurs might be extinct, but our love for the prehistoric creatures is alive and well. If you're unconvinced, take a look at the dino-tastic happenings at Field Station.
The venue boasts 30 life-size, animatronic dinos, family-friendly activities and live shows, proving to be a can't-miss attraction for NYC kiddies. Dare we say, it runs a close race with the popular Museum of Natural History fossils. This venue promises to really make a roar in 2018 with a few new additions, including the anxiously-anticipated Spinosaurus. Believe it or not, this fella was the biggest pre-historic carnivore many moons ago. T-Rex, you might want to move over because you have some competition.
In addition to the newbie of the dino crew, who was selected by youngsters in Field Station’s 2016 Dinosaur Election, a new show will delight visitors. Dinosaur Daredevil! Archeopteryx Cleared For Take Off tackles animal flight and adds a fun twist with black lights, puppets and great tunes. What better way to tackle these subjects?
Visitors can also expect the typical offerings this year: the Super Stars of Science series on Saturdays in July and August, when experts discuss fields such as geology, paleo artistry and other subjects; Paleontologists’ Laboratory where kiddos can do some digging and the Dark Tent, which will hold screenings of the 1914 animated Gertie The Dinosaur.
