Lupita Nyong’o is exploring new avenues for a good cause—all in the name of little ones.

The award-winning actress has decided to dabble in publishing by writing a children’s book that tackles the tough topic of colorism (discrimination based on skin color), according to Time. Sulwe follows a young girl in Kenya who feels disparaged by her dark skin. It isn’t until Sulwe (which means “star” in Luo, the actress’ first language) takes a journey into the night sky that she understands and appreciates diversity.

According to The New York TimesNyong’o wanted to reach young readers and expose them to a prevalent issue in today’s world.

“My goal in writing Sulwe is to provide young children with a path towards seeing their own beauty, regardless of what society tells them,” Nyong’o said in a statement.

Look out for the book’s release in January 2019. We can't wait to see it!
