Kids are liable to get antsy once June rolls around.

School's still in session, days are getting warmer and summer camp seems so close, yet so far.

As of today, there are still 20 days until NYC pools open for the season (don't forget to peruse our list of the best pools for kids in NYC). But if your little fishes can't wait that long, there's good news.

Pint-sized swimmers can attempt their best doggy paddle among the rainbow at Manhattan Park's outdoor pool—located at 30 River Rd in Roosevelt Island—which is officially open for the season. The tradition of bringing color to the pool deck began five years ago. Since then, kiddos and parents have enjoyed splashing in a kaleidoscope of color!

This year, local artist Elizabeth Sutton used 60 gallons of paint in 18 different shades to transform the pool area into a vibrant sunburst pattern, complete with playful yellow-striped umbrellas. It's certainly a feast for the eyes—and so is the Manhattan skyline hanging in the distance. Citi Habitats New Developments, K&Co and Pliskin Architecture worked alongside the artist to bring the happy shades of rainbow hues to life. We're definitely ready to take a dip!

According to 6sqft, the pool mainly serves residents of Manhattan Park, but the public can get in on the rainbow experience, but for a fee. Those who are not from the island can enjoy the blissful space for $40 on weekdays and $60 on weekends. (For residents, weekday rates are $25 and weekend rates are $30.)
