A scoop of ice cream is difficult to resist under any circumstance, so when you have a chance to get a taste for free, you have to seize the opportunity.

Mark your calendars, New Yorkers: Häagen-Dazs is here to please hungry customers on May 8 with its annual Free Cone Day. Is there any better way to celebrate springtime than with your favorite frozen treat? (Of course not.)

Those in need of a pick-me-up can stop by their local Häagen-Dazs shop anywhere from 4–8pm on the holiday itself to chow down on a complimentary cone. After you pick the kiddos up from school, they're going to want a snack, so this is the perfect excuse for you to treat yourself as well.

As sweet as this occasion can be for patrons, there is an even bigger meaning behind the cause. During Free Cone Day, Häagen-Dazs will be accepting donations for its incredibly hard-working employees: the honey bees who are responsible for helping the company create its most beloved flavors (that mango cone is pretty delectable). This is your way to say thank you.

The Häagen-Dazs Loves Honey Bees Initiative has actually raised over 1 million dollars to pollinator education and research throughout the past decade, so we don't need to tell you that this event is the bees knees. Looking forward to seeing you on line!
