Want to take dad back in time this Father's Day? Well, the New York Transit Museum is here to provide a blast from the past.

Once you swipe your MetroCard during the Parade of Trains event, you and your family can board the subway, but don't expect your typical commute. The Brighton Beach station B/Q platforms will give riders the opportunity to hop aboard six different vintage train cars, some of which date back all the way to 1904. NYC looked a lot different back then!

As much we love a trip to the museum, getting to explore these babies on the tracks is a great way to feel like a turn-of-the-century New Yorker. Some of the trains include BRT Brooklyn Union Elevated Cars (1903–1969), BMT D-Type Triplex (1925–1965) and BRT/BMT Standards (1914–1969). Think you could handle a commute with one of these every day?

If you're looking for a taste of old-school New York, head to Brighton Beach from 11 am–4pm on Saturday June 16 and Sunday, June 17. Note, though the vintage cars will travel in both directions—including a short round trip to Ocean Parkway and a longer one to to Kings Highway—passengers will only be able to get on and off the trains at the Brighton Beach (B/Q) station. Don't forget to stop by the Museum’s membership station on the platform to commemorate the day with a temporary tattoo.

See you in 1904, New York!
