There's still time to score Girl Scout Cookies, and it's for a good cause

Selling Girl Scout cookies is a rite of passage for troop members, but unfortunately, some children do not get to experience the age-old tradition—that's why this bake sale is sweeter than all the Thin Mints and Samoas you could possibly buy.

Through Friday, Apr 13, Girl Scout Troop 6000 will hold a sale at Kellogg's in Union Square from 4–6pm for those who need to score another helping of Tagalongs and Do Si Dos before the season's over. What makes the event extremely exciting is the fact that this is the first time Troop 6000, which is comprised of children living in the New York City Shelter System, will get to raise money for their troop through cookie sales—something that's been on their mind since their founding, the troop's recruiting specialist Corinthia Fludd reveals.

Not only will you be taking home delicious treats, but you'll be giving young girls the experience they wouldn't have had. Delivery options after bake sales were always options that had to be taken into consideration. By Kellogg's allowing the children to set up shop in their store, it eliminates the delivery process and lets the girls focus on their fundraising.

Troop 6000 is looking to sell 6,000 boxes of cookies. Let's help them reach that goal, NYC!

Need inspo for a family outing? The best things to do with kids in NYC will keep the whole crew busy. Once the weather starts to cooperate, these outdoor games for kids and a trip to one of these kids playgrounds make for a great day outside.
