When backyards are few and far between, NYC families gravitate toward their much-needed local playground.

Fortunately for Brooklyn residents, DiGilio Playground just received over $2 million in upgrades that the whole family can utilize, which makes the warm weather extra welcoming.

"With areas for adults to get fit and for children to play, and plenty of space to kick back and relax, this renewed public space is open just in time for summer,” Commissioner Mitchell J. Silver said in a statement according to the NYC Parks Department.

Even better? Residents made their voices known, and their requests were taken into consideration during the development process.

“The best neighborhood parks are the ones created with input from the community members who use them, and DiGilio Playground is a wonderful example of that,” Silver added.

The venue—in honor of the late Deputy Inspector Joseph DiGilio—will feature new play equipment for kiddos to climb and slide, fitness areas for older crowds to hone their exercise routines and even game table seats that are ideal for a round of cards or a board game. Don't forget to take a look and admire the new colorful landscape and enjoy the greenery.

Consider your weekend booked!
