Tomorrow's National Hot Dog Day—here's how to score a free one

We certainly hope you took a breather.

After the trifecta of comfort food celebrations—National French Fry Day on July 13th, National Mac and Cheese Day on the 14th and National Ice Cream Day on the 15th—we still have one more holiday underway. Summer wouldn't be complete without an ode to a barbecue favorite, so get ready to indulge on National Hot Dog Day this Wednesday. Pass the mustard, please!

Of course, this party wouldn't be worth celebrating without a present, so Dog Haus is prepared to shell out freebies while supplies last. Get into that 4th of July state of mind, head to the SoHo storefront and choose any beef hot dog (which generally runs about $9). From there, you're able to select a build that suits your fancy (these are a variety of toppings, such as the Cowboy, which includes smoky bacon, cheddar cheese and BBQ sauce and crispy onions).

Dog Haus is bound to get busy, so make sure you and your kiddies get there A.S.A.P. If you're thinking BBQ for breakfast to commemorate the occasion, the store opens at 8am (no need for cereal on this glorious day). Why not give NYC-exclusive flavors a go? You can choose from Me Soho-NY (Big Island Lava Mayo, pickled red cabbage and chili oil) or Huli-Huli (pineapple and jalapeno relish, crispy fried onions, sweet ginger glaze and scallions).

No matter the route you take, hot dogs are always a good idea in the summer. Happy munching.
