Ursula's head fell off at Disney, and the kids are not happy

Ursula just proved whatever happens under the sea isn’t all fun and games, so it comes as no surprise that Ariel wanted to be part of a whole new world.

The recent events at Disney’s California Adventure Little Mermaid ride were definitely cause for chaos, especially for the young fanbase. As little princes and princesses journeyed through the attraction, the unthinkable happened to a very deserving nefarious octopus who literally lost her head.

The Ursula robot was mid-tune, flapping her arms about all while her decapitated head rested off her shoulders and wires sprawled to the ground. It was Sweeney Todd meets The Little Mermaid. A “Poor Unfortunate Soul,” indeed. You do know what they say about karma, Ursula.

Some visitors couldn’t get enough of the laugh-out-loud moment, according to Newsweek, yet others were most definitely scarred for life. If your children get easily frightened by this type of scenario, assure them Ursula probably had it coming to her anyway. Have a glimpse at the ride gone wrong.

Time Out New York Kids reached out to Disney for comment but did not hear back by the time of publication.
