A piece of our hearts shattered when we learned that Toys "R" Us will close roughly 180 stores across the country this year. Though grappling with the loss of our go-to kids' spot has been been difficult, a few silver linings will make this bankruptcy a bit more bearable.

According to USA Today, closing sales are set to begin as early as Wednesday, Feb 7. The paper further states that Bankruptcy Judge Keith Phillips approved these actions, and the deals are expected to extend into April. Toys "R" Us will allegedly release the details of its plans in the near future, the paper further reports.

A good sale is certainly welcome, but what will get our hearts patched up back to its original state is knowing that our favorite toy store will recover from this bankruptcy, something the company hopes to do. "The reinvention of our brands requires that we make tough decisions about our priorities and focus," Chairman and Chief Executive Officer David Brandon wrote in a statement. "We also intend to convert a number of locations into co-branded Toys “R” Us and Babies “R” Us stores. The actions we are taking are necessary to give us the best chance to emerge from our bankruptcy proceedings as a more viable and competitive company."

It's about more than the coolest LEGO action figure and adorable must-have stuffed animal—it's about creating childhood memories. Fingers crossed that there is a happily-ever-after for our beloved store.

Don't feel too blue, there's still a lot to look forward to. Take the time to enjoy the best winter activities for kids, cross a few kids’ attractions off your checklist or plan a night in with one of these kids’ movies
