If you've mistaken your child for a nocturnal creature who loves a good 'ol hissy fit at 2am, you might want to think long and hard about the next NYC neighborhood you call home.

A new study from State Comptroller Thomas DiNapoli reveals that Washington Heights and Inwood had the highest rate of noise complaints between 2010—2015 according to Patch, so if you're desperate for a little piece and quiet, it might be time to consider downtown apartment options. Tied for the infamous spot of noisiest NYC nabe is Community Board 10, which covers Central Harlem. These locations received roughly 82 noise complaints per 1,000 adults per year, Patch further reports.

It seems nightlife and construction were the main culprits for these statistics, and let’s face it: How are you supposed to function without at least some r&r?

"This report gathers data that could be used by state and city agencies to focus noise control efforts more effectively,” Comptroller DiNapoli said in a statement. “The city has a model noise code and should be commended for taking steps to better enforce local law, but there is more that city agencies can do to control noise disruptions.”

Ironically, studies have found that the city’s noisiest neighborhoods are also the healthiest...go figure.
