Taking the kids to a pumpkin patch is a beloved tradition that can be a family adventure, giving everyone a chance to embrace the fall spirit. This appropriately-named venue is a quintessential fall hotspot for New York families. 17. Hurds Family Farm

When Halloween season kicks into high gear, swap the Granny Smiths for pumpkins at Hurds Family Farm (or simply opt for both). To enjoy the pumpkin patch of your dreams, hop aboard the ferry to Governors Island. The annual Pumpkin Point extravaganza in Nolan Park will feature thousands of gourds, and guests are invited to take one home, free of charge.
