Next week, New Yorkers get to celebrate St. Patrick's Day, the official start of spring and our right to rake in gratis goodies from patisseries across the city. On Friday, March 20, François Payard and his Gallic comrades will dole out free macarons (French meringue cookies filled with ganache, cream or jam) for NYC Macaron Day.
During the sixth annual fête, you can score one complimentary cookie at each of the 15 participating bakeries, including multiple locations of FP Patisserie, Épicerie Boulud, Bouchon Bakery and Macaron Parlour, from 10am to 5pm. If your sweet tooth wants more, there'll be plenty of treats for sale, a portion of which will benefit City Harvest. To plot out your route, check out this interactive map from the Macaron Day site:
