New Yorkers, your next Italian obsession is arriving hot and fast. Eataly—the beloved Italian food hall known for its bustling marketplaces, freshly made pasta and dangerously good focaccia—is launching a brand-new café concept designed for life on the go.

Meet Eataly Caffè, a quick-service spinoff of the global culinary brand, opening its very first location at Rockefeller Center on May 15 at 5pm, with a second to follow soon at The Shops & Restaurants at Hudson Yards.

Designed with city life in mind, Eataly Caffè offers a more compact, grab-and-go version of its full-size siblings—but don’t confuse “fast” with “basic.” The menu reads like a greatest hits album of Italian favorites: espresso drinks brewed from Eataly’s exclusive 100% Arabica blend (roasted in Italy, naturally), flaky pastries, Roman-style pizza alla pala, tramezzini, panini, soups, salads, pasta and, of course, gelato.

According to Eataly North America CEO Tommaso Brusò, this marks a major milestone in the brand’s stateside evolution.

“We are incredibly excited to inaugurate our very first Eataly Caffè locations, especially in the city that welcomed us stateside nearly 15 years ago,” Brusò said in a statement. “As a true icon of New York City, we are thrilled to open at Rockefeller Center, adding to its unparalleled entertainment, retail and dining. Likewise, we look forward to opening a second location at the iconic Hudson Yards, a culmination of experiences, shopping, and best-in-class dining, shortly afterwards. Overall, our mission with Eataly Caffè is to provide a taste of the Italian art of living, and we cannot wait to welcome in guests very soon.”

Another perk: Eataly Caffè will debut a dedicated app featuring exclusive item drops each quarter, loyalty rewards and real-time order tracking, so your mid-morning macchiato will practically walk itself to you.

With more than 50 stores worldwide and an ambitious growth plan in motion, Eataly is betting big on its café future. And lucky us, New York gets it first.
