Since we live in the concrete jungle, it can be hard to find fresh blooms anywhere other than the best parks in NYC. But one thing there isn’t a shortage of in Gotham? Flower shops! NYC is flooded with bodegas and markets that sell lovely bouquets outside on the sidewalk, but if you’re celebrating a special occasion such as a wedding anniversary, Valentine’s Day or Mother’s Day, you’ll need to visit the pros to tackle those floral jobs. Ordering from this Hell’s Kitchen design studio takes a little planning—it operates by appointment and doesn't accept walk-ins—but its super-detailed website with vibrant photos makes it a breeze. There are many arrangements filled with various buds to choose from starting at $85. Also, it offers same-day delivery in Manhattan, so it’s perfect for procrastinators.

Dealing in bold colors and minimalist, architectural designs, Ovando is where celebs go when they need to impress their significant others (Maroon 5’s Adam Levine sent a bouquet from the shop to his wife, Victoria’s Secret model Behati Prinsloo). Arrangements can range from $185 to over $400. The colors are vibrant and will certainly light up any room.

West Village floral emporium Spruce planted a tiny new sampling in Chelsea with a petite shop that showcases sleek minimalist decor. It all reflects the tastes of owner and designer Gaige Clark, who opts for simplicity when it comes to floral. Her clients range from Lincoln Center to the Brooklyn Botanic Garden to the Whitney Museum. She also has an attracted list of celebrities, politicians and royalty from around the globe.

If you’re willing to hand over the reins completely, psychic florist Hannah Ling can tell you what your loved ones really want. Either way, it promises that the therapeutic properties of flowers will change your life—and includes a handwritten card for good measure. Same-day delivery is available.

Owner Sunny Hwang fashions custom arrangements and bouquets of seasonal flowers in this narrow East Village storefront. Offering gorgeous peonies, lilacs, and other traditional blooms, her usual prices are generally budget-friendly. It’s no wonder there’s always a line on holidays. Unfortunately, this shop doesn’t deliver, so you’ll have to call a week before to schedule a pickup.

This family-owned flower shop is located in Midtown and is known for its long-lasting relationships with customers.
