Five good reasons to go to the Pub Awards

The third annual Time Out Sydney Pub Awards are on again, which means another night of drinks and hijinks down by the harbour with the best in the pub business. And if rubbing shoulders with industry greats isn't compelling enough, here are five other great reasons to get down to Beer Deluxe on Monday, June 6.

1. You can forget it's a school night.
It wouldn't be a Pub Awards without drinks, and plenty of them. If you like things strong and spicy, you'll be aiming for the Dark'n'Stormys for that ginger and rum kick; if you like a little fizz the trays of cider should be in your sight line. Nothing completes a cool June evening by the harbour like a glass of red from the Gentleman's Collection wines, or if you like the simple joys of a refreshing ale on a night out, keep your eyes peeled for the Yenda beers that will be circling the room. Getting a drink is not going to be the problem – choosing will be.

2. You can prove you're a sharp shooter.
We're going to have pub games on the night, including a set of targets from iDarts, which are digital darts that definitely don't pose a health hazard to people who might wander into your path.

3. The snack game will be strong.
Need a reason to go out on Monday? We've got eight of them right here. Let's start with panko crumbed calamari, followed by twice-cooked Korean-style hot wings. Next up you'll be wanting a new riff on a classic, with chicken and goats cheese sausage rolls, chicken and preserved lemon meatballs and mini cheeseburgers. Still hungry? There'll also be stuffed button mushrooms, whipped Persian feta with heirloom tomatoes and beetroot and goat's cheese tarts for our vegetarian homies.

4. You could win a mad prize.
On the night there will be a spinning wheel where you can spin to win great prizes, including Beer DeLuxe vouchers and Yenda beer.

5. You can treat your ears to the sweet tunes from Harvey.
This Sydney-based singer songwriter is no stranger to Time Out events - he is a member of the Beans, who played on the Glenmore rooftop in 2015. He's bringing his sweet holiday vibes to Beer Deluxe for the Pub Awards, keeping the mood mellow and helping make a Monday feel like Friday.

Bonus reason.
Vivid is on and there's never been a better time to be out and about in our majestic city of lights.
On you way down to Beer Deluxe stop to admire Darling Harbour's  Vivid installations, and maybe consider an after event stroll once the crowds have thinned. It'll be like your own private festival of lights.
