You don't have to wait till October, and you don't have to travel to Bondi: Sydney's favourite outdoor art event, Sculpture by the Sea, has teamed up with the Barangaroo Delivery Authority to bring the sculpture park to the Harbour this August.

From August 6-21, 12 works will transform the headland at Barangaroo Reserve into an open air sculpture park: Sculpture at Barangaroo.

Six of the works are new commissions from Australian artists; another six existing works were selected with the Barangaroo foreshore in mind, including the work pictured above, which was a finalist in the 2014 Sculpture by the Sea.

The full line-up of artists is: Sean Cordeiro and Claire Healy, Marley Dawson, Lucy Humphrey, Ron Robertson-Swann OAM, Margarita Sampson, Sangeeta Sandrasegar, Yasmin Smith, Marcus Tatton, Ken Unsworth OAM, Sally Kidall, Lyndsay Urquhart, Emily Nichol and Tereasa Trevor, and Auntie Deidre Martin with collaborators.

Sculpture at Barangaroo will be a family oriented and interactive installation, with some of the works designed to incorporate contributions by visitors across the duration of the festival.
