Time Out says

Shake off the Monday blues with a one-off Chilean dinner party.

Guest chef Alex Munoz (Monopole, Cirrus) will be bringing the flavours of his childhood to Surry Hills this Monday, manning the parillas with Nomad’s Jacqui Challinor to plate up traditional Chilean dishes such as seafood and cheese empanadas, citrus-cooked snapper ceviche and barbecued octopus with roast pumpkin and chickpeas.

The heat doesn’t get turned down at the end of the night either, with a spiced rum flan for dessert.

The $150 share-style feast also includes matched Chilean wines and cocktails by fellow countryman Dennis Roman (Café Paci), who will be showcasing the country’s unique grape varieties and creating heat-tempering cocktails like a pineapple and mint Pisco Sour.

They’re hoping to foster the same love for Chilean food that fellow Latin American cuisines like Mexican, Argentinean and Peruvian have received from Australians in recent years.

It’s the perfect way to celebrate fiestas patrias, the country’s independence holiday, and also a great excuse to make Monday a party.
