Grab your cowboy hat, furrow your brow and start thoughtfully chewing on a strand of hay – because it’s time for you to make an entrance through the swinging doors and swill some moonshine at this ol' timey wild west saloon experience.
You’ll get more than western-themed drinks and decor at Saloon 24. At this 90-minute experience, you’ll take part in games and challenges to win golden coins which you can redeem for bottles containing secret ingredients to mix into a smoking cocktail barrel. Along the way you can try your hand at darts, ring toss, coin toss, card games and shuffleboard, as well as getting all fired up for a duel, you varmint.
You’ll find this yee-haw-inspired drinking and gaming den upstairs from the Wonderland Bar in Kings Cross, where the potions class style Wizard’s Den experience and Christmas-on-steroids style Tinseltown Bar have previously resided.
Dressing up to team with the theme is strongly recommended here, so break out those cowboy boots, leather chaps and Dolly Parton-inspired fringed shirts you’ve been yearning like a country song for an excuse to wear. All cowboys, cowgirls and cowfolks will be provided a returnable bandana on entry. For $40, your ticket also includes two bespoke cocktails (mocktails can be arranged if you’re on the softer stuff). There is also whiskey and moonshine on the menu if you really want to lean into the saloon vibes.
Don’t hesitate to take your horse to the old town road, Saloon 24 is only darkening our doorstep from March 3 until the end of April. There is a mix of session times on Wednesday to Friday nights from 5.30pm, and on Saturdays and Sundays from 2pm to late. Giddy up!
