Debuting in Hong Kong, Japanese artist Hikari Shimoda is showcasing new paintings in his signature style inspired by anime and Japanese manga. Shimoda’s vibrantly coloured vacant doe-eyed, childlike characters are her interesting take on contemporary popular culture and society. The juxtaposition between despondency and sparkling facade makes Shimoda’s work all the more endearing.
