Wang Gongyi: Memories of West Lake

Established Chinese female artist Wang Gongyi and trailblazer in contemporary Chinese ink art presents her first solo exhibition in Hong Kong. Showcasing 11 paintings created from 2013 onwards, the series displays Wang’s take on the traditional Chinese landscape ink paintings and reinterpreting them with a contemporary spin. Aside from demonstrating her practice, the landscape collection also recounts Wang’s memories of the West Lake in Hangzhou, China, a place that continues to deeply resonate with her.
