There's something about tropical flavours that's comforting; aside from invoking the vibrant warmth of summer, it makes us feel like we're on a relaxing exotic vacation. This autumn, The Langham's gin bar, Artesian, is treating you to an evening of tropical flavours as Central tiki-inspired bar The Social Den comes to the Kowloon side for a one-night-only guest bar shift. On November 11, 6pm to 9pm, Artesian's bar captain Kelvin Chow together with The Social Den's co-founder Joe Villanueva, will be mixing up signature cocktails behind the stick.
Using locally-sourced, tropical ingredients, the menu for the night will include eight concoctions ($150 per cocktail), including the sweet, citrusy and silky milk punch called Scent of Love Punch – made with The Langham's own signature gin, plum wine, sencha tea, honey, citric acid, rhubarb bitters, and aged tangerine peel, clarified in full cream milk – and savoury sbagliato twist made with gin and dried shrimp flavours. The Social Den's popular serves will be part of the menu, which includes the bar's best-sellers, tequila-based Papaya and gin-based Longan. For $348, sip on two cocktails from the menu and enjoy a snack platter with roasted suckling pig from Michelin-starred Cantonese restaurant T'ang Court, signature crab cake from Bostonian Seafood & Grill, and chicken lollipops from Artesian's kitchen.
