There's no male institution quite like Captain's Bar at the revamped Mandarin Oriental. MO spent US$140 million on a facelift of the hotel but didn't dare touch the beloved Captain's Bar, with its frothy mugs of beer served up in chilled sterling silver. A nightly jazz band comes on around 9pm.
