Origin bar's tropical jungle-themed pop-up

Hong Kong gin bar Origin has prepared a tropical jungle-themed pop-up offering a limited-time-only gin cocktail menu until August 1. A must-try on the menu is the spicy gimlet twist called Melaka Bazaar ($120) created by executive mixologist Antonio Lai using Tanqueray Malacca gin, tabasco, bitter gourd, honey, and pear. It's easy to drink, moreish – perfect refreshment for the summer heat. More on the tropical note is Origin's bar manager Edward Chung's twist on Basil Smash called Basil Instinct ($110) using gin, basil, egg white, passionfruit, homemade herbal tea cordial, yuzu, limoncello, served with vanilla smoke. Sip on any of the cocktail offerings while snapping a picture for the 'gram at the entrance of the bar where a rattan bench is set against a backdrop of greenery and two fierce-looking leopards.
