Clubbing event of the week: Muévete vs Cosa Nuestra Tropical Basement Party

Adding a delightful new dimension to the local club scene, Muévete, meaning ‘Move it!’, is a new basement party aiming to promote underground Latin music and culture. Happily devoid of the usual kind of pop chart floor fillers so often dominant at club nights in our fair city, Muévete is inspired by the kind of fierce soundsystems found at London’s Notting Hill Carnival. The night at Zafran also includes musicians playing along side DJs, live performances, art installations and projections.

For this event, Muévete DJs – the pioneers of the tropical bass movement here in Hong Kong – are going head-to-head with the La Cosa Nuestra Crew for a super sonic journey that promises to take revellers from Brixton and Kingston to Lagos and Freetown in one room, and to Spanish Harlem and Puerto Rico via Havana and Bogota in the other.

Friday 22 September, 10pm-6am, Zafran, B/F, 43-55 Wyndham Street, Central.
$150 (inc one drink).
