Hong Kong’s bustling and fast-paced lifestyle often gets the better of us. But with Sai Kung’s newest retreat, 53 Hoi Ha, Hongkongers can now easily get away and escape from city life. Just an hour's drive from Central, 53 Hoi Ha is a chic, pink coloured house next to the serene and isolated Hoi Hai Wan, offering everything from yoga classes and kayaking to snorkelling and stand up paddleboarding. With incredibly clear blue waters and a remote location, this countryside getaway also has activities like pilates, Hiit (high intensity interval training) exercise classes and nature walks.

Derek Hinden, retreat director of 53 Hoi Ha, is excited to invite visitors to this magical escape. “It’s my happy place,” he says. “Once I get here my stress levels immediately drop and I’d love to share it with others.” The retreat also happens to be a sustainable business and supports local ventures, giving back to the community by donating eight percent of profits to charity. Starts from $1,500 per person.
