Hong Kong International Film Festival 2018

The Florida Project

The city’s biggest film festival returns with another stellar lineup

It can be tough getting tickets for Asia’s oldest film festival – have those credit cards ready when booking finally opens on March 2 – but that’s because the array of films screened at HKIFF is almost always stellar.

Highlights already announced for this year include the Oscar-nominated The Florida Project followed by a Q&A with director Sean Baker, and a screening of Kenji Mizoguchi’s A Story from Chikamatsu dovetailed by an interview with lead actress Kagawa Kyoko, one of the icons of Japanese cinema’s golden age.

Screenings take place across the city from the likes of the HK Arts Centre in Wan Chai to The Metroplex in Kowloon Bay, so be sure to check locations as well as the times films are showing.
