There’s something enchanting and captivating about French cinematic works, from its laissez-faire sensibility to themes and exploration on human emotion and nature. Thanks to this year’s Le French May cinema programme, Hongkongers can immerse into the world. Organised by the Alliance Française de Hong Kong with the support of the Consulate General of France in Hong Kong and Macao, the 2019 edition of the film programme features a packed lineup of movies spanning from new releases to rarely screened classics. With the theme Love, Passion, and Glamour, eleven carefully-curated films including Amour by Michael Haneke, Belle de Jour by Luis Buñuel, and La Vie d’Adèle by Abdellatif Kechiche, are screened across Broadway Cinematheque, AMC Cinema, and Premiere Elements.
