Hong Kong Sinfonietta presents Israel in Egypt – one of England’s favourite hymns – at Hong Kong City Hall Concert Hall. World-renowned Handel expert Paul Goodwin leads six Hong Kong and UK soloists, the SingFest Choral Academy, Festival Chorus and, of course, the Hong Kong Sinfonietta for this powerful, chorus-laden oratorio.
The work vividly portrays the biblical stories in the Books of Exodus and Psalms, from the plagues of flies, frogs and hailstones to Moses’ parting of the Red Sea and revenge against the oppressive Egyptians.
