Musicus Fest: A Dazzling Night of Northern Stars

The festival opens with a bang as acclaimed cellist and artistic director of this year’s Musicus Fest Trey Lee introduces Finnish violin virtuoso Pekka Kuusisto and the Finnish Tapiola Orchestra. Starting off the evening is Edvard Grieg’s rousing Holberg Suite, followed by Camille Saint-Saëns’ Cello Concerto No 1. Next on the programme featuring Kuusisto are Jean Sibelius’ Six Humoresques for Violin and Orchestra, and to finish the night off is Prokofiev’s Symphony No 1.
