Renowned Taiwanese maestro Chen Tscehng-hsiung leads the Hong Kong Chinese Orchestra in three great works. Beginning the programme with Shostakovich's Festive Overture, the concert then features two big contermporary Chinese works: The Phoenix That Rises From The Ashes, a konghou concerto by American based Chinese composer Chen Ning-chi and featuring young rising konghou star Wu Lin (pictured), as well as the famous Yellow River piano concerto featuring Shi Shucheng.
