2026 is going to be a milestone year for Hong Kong’s largest sporting event as the Hong Kong Sevens celebrates its 50th anniversary. With half a decade of thrilling rugby games and loud, proud, and unapologetic partying under its belt, this upcoming Hong Kong Sevens series at Kai Tak Sports Park is going to be one for the books, and it’s looking like fans will have plenty of reason to boogie and bounce in the stands as Eurodance sensation Vengaboys has been confirmed to perform on Saturday afternoon, April 18!

Dutch Eurodance group Vengaboys rose to fame in the late 1990s and early 2000s with upbeat hits such as ‘We Like to Party! (The Vengabus)’, ‘Boom, Boom, Boom, Boom!!’, ‘We’re Going to Ibiza’, ‘Shalala Lala’, and ‘Hot Hot Hot’, so Millennials (and perhaps even precocious Gen Zs) should be able to recognise their chart-topping tunes. Feel the infectious energy of nostalgia course through you at this year’s Hong Kong Sevens and bop along with Captain Kim, Party Girl D’Nice, Cowboy Donny, and Sailor Boy Robin, who will all no doubt be dressed appropriately to match the vibes of the South Stand.

More performances and acts will be announced soon, but with the addition of Vengaboys to the entertainment lineup, the Hong Kong Rugby Sevens 2026 is already shaping up to be world-class. We’re waiting with bated breath to find out how the organisers will top last year’s event, which featured English indie rockers Kaiser Chiefs and DJ Pete Tong.

Who’s hopping aboard the Vengabus this April? If you want to prepare ahead of the big event, check out the Vengaboys YouTube channel for dance tutorials to some of their most popular songs. Get practising and bust out some moves at the Hong Kong Sevens.
