As we get nearer to Christmas, festive decorations and displays are popping up all over town, each trying to outshine the other with cutesy cartoons and interactive elements. Joining the fray is Central Harboufront, which has unveiled 14 creative light installations by Hong Kong and international designers in the hope of making the harbourfront the photo hotspot of the season.

Organised by the Hong Kong Tourism Board, the International Light Art Display features some stunning and, let’s be honest, Insta-bait creations, to admire and play around with. Among the goodies, you’ll find massive illuminated angel wings; a modernised spring rider on a platform dotted with colourful lights that changes hues as you ride it; giant head sculptures; a pawn shop sign-inspired tunnel; and a 25m-high steel ribbed Christmas tree.

All the light installations will be in place until February 24, so have all your photo apps ready ‘cause you’re going to be taking tons of snaps.
