Sure, we’re all looking forward to Disney’s new live-action film of The Lion King that will hit the screens this July, starring Donald Glover as Simba and the one-and-only Béyonce as Nala. But nothing quite compares to the stage musical. Good news, then: the musical phenomenon is heading to Hong Kong for the first time ever premiering this December 18 at AsiaWorld-Expo.

Based on the 1994 animation, The Lion King is now one of the most successful musicals of all time, not to mention one of the longest-running, since its debut back in 1997. With music and lyrics by Elton John and Tim Rice, the production is known for its innovative and spellbinding staging, costumes and choreography, from actors in full animal costumes running down the aisles in the audience to dramatic reenactments of the wildebeest stampede scene. This is your chance to really feel the love (for the show) and join in the circle of life (though not literally).

Tickets start from $399 and will be available to purchase in May. So check this space for the latest updates. Mark your calendars and get your tickets as soon as it opens – because Hakuna Matata, right? Oh, I just can’t wait to be... there at the show...
