Don’t freak out this evening when lights start going off as major landmarks and buildings – including many along our iconic harbour skyline – go dark in support of Earth Hour at 8.30pm.
Originally started in 2007 in Sydney by the World Wildlife Fund, Earth Hour is now a global movement in which millions participate to demonstrate for the need for greater action on climate change and to do their part in protecting the future of our planet. On top of powering down for an hour, individuals can also pledge not to use single-use plastic products and to adopt a low carbon life.
Be kind to Mother Earth and remember to put your lights out for an hour this Saturday night!
