Let’s get it started in here! It’s been almost 20 years since the last time The Black Eyed Peas came to Hong Kong for a performance at the AsiaWorld-Expo, but the iconic group is finally back on our shores this month. Here’s everything you need to know about their concert in Hong Kong – read on to find out more about FREE tickets!
When and where is the Black Eyed Peas’ Hong Kong concert?
The Black Eyed Peas will be performing in Hong Kong on Wednesday, November 19, at AXA Wonderland in West Kowloon. Showtime is at 8pm, so make sure you arrive with plenty of time to spare.
What is The Black Eyed Peas’ concert setlist?
There hasn’t been an official setlist available, but judging from their previous concerts, fans can likely look forward to a show that consists of a mix of new material and the group’s most recognisable chart-toppers. We’re keeping our fingers crossed for bangers like Where Is the Love?, I Gotta Feeling, Pump It, Boom Boom Pow, and Let’s Get It Started.
What’s more, Hong Kong-based Malaysian singer Gin Lee will be opening for the group! We’re fans of her R&B influenced Cantopop music, so it’ll be worth it to see two good acts in one show.
Which members will be performing in Hong Kong?
In its current formation, The Black Eyed Peas consists of members will.i.am, apl.de.ap, and Taboo, with Filipino-American singer J. Rey Soul serving as the group’s singer after Fergie’s departure in 2018. It’s a bit sad that we won’t get to see Fergie, but we expect the concert will still shape up to be a nostalgic night of belting out some of your favourite noughties clubbing tunes, and dancing your socks off like it’s 2005.
How much are tickets to see The Black Eyed Peas?
Ticket prices start from $880 for category B standing tickets, to $1,880 for the VIP package. The highest tier includes VIP entry, seated tickets, a dedicated VIP line for drinks, show souvenirs, and access to the standing zone should you feel like partying with the plebs. Any special admission arrangements?
Ticket holders are required to show their e-tickets or QR codes in the KKTix app for entry, so make sure you have everything downloaded and ready to go before arriving at the concert venue. There may be bag searches or metal detectors to go through, so don’t cut your arrival time too fine. The concert is also going to be in an outdoor venue, so keep an eye on the weather for that day – if there happens to be severe weather, the organiser will make announcements on their social media pages.
All zones, whether VIP or normal categories are free seating or standing, respectively. No queuing numbers will be offered for standing zones, and the two VIP zones on either side of the stage are free seating. This unfortunately means there’s likely to be a bit of a dash for the good spots when admission opens.
Are there any things not allowed within the concert venue?
No outside food or drink can be brought in. No flash photography, videotaping, audio recording, or live streaming during the concert either.
How to get to AXA Wonderland
The easiest form of public transport to figure out would be the MTR. Alight at Kowloon MTR station and take exit E1, then follow the signs across the multi-lane road at the Western Harbour Crossing to reach the West Kowloon Promenade. The AXA Wonderland is near the Hong Kong Palace Museum (HKPM), next to the Competition Pavilion.
Alternatively there are several buses that stop along WestK. The 973, 296D, HK1, and W4 buses are probably the routes that stop the closest to the concert venue, right near the HKPM, as well as the minibus CX1.
It is unclear whether roads will be open on the concert day itself, but if they are, you can technically get a taxi straight down Museum Drive, past the HKPM roundabout and the West Kowloon Nursery Park, and down the road to the left, which leads directly to AXA Wonderland. If roads happen to be closed, just ask to be dropped off near the HKPM, which is merely a short walk away.
Lastly, you could also explore the brand-new WestK ferry, which runs from Central No. 9 pier to the WestK Quay!
Are The Black Eyed Peas performing anywhere else?
If you miss their Hong Kong show, don’t fret, because the group will also be performing in Macau on November 21, at the Macao Outdoor Performance Venue.
