Can’t get enough great whisky? You’re in luck. For the next two weeks, Macallan will run a pop-up boutique on the first floor of Elements shopping mall in Kowloon, where you can sample a few different expressions from the single malt Scotch specialist paired with chocolate goodies.

Those expressions include the Macallan Double Cask Gold (paired with an almond and hazelnut praline with crushed hazelnuts and grains of Maldon sea salt) and the Macallan Double Cask 12 Year Old paired with a dark chocolate ganache with fresh passion fruit juice and pulp. Tasty stuff.

The pop-up kicked off with a sneak peek of the Macallan M Black 2017 release. You may remember that name: for a time, the Macallan M label held the record for being the most expensive bottle of whisky ever sold, when a six-litre bottle of Macallan M Imperiale went at auction for a whopping $3.6 million.

The Macallan M Black won’t cost you quite as much money ('only' about $53,000 per bottle), but it’s a fine high-end release in its own right, layered with complex flavours like chocolate, cherry and a kick of peaty smoke. The whisky also comes in a one-of-a-kind black crystal decanter designed by French glassmaker Lalique. Pretty slick stuff.

Drop by the Metal zone in Elements from now until April 11 to try some of these fruity, smoky whiskies.
