Central Market is turning into a full-scale Munich beer hall as the ‘Central Market x Stormies Oktoberfest’ returns for its fourth edition. Running from October 8 to 31, the booze-filled bash promises three weeks of clinking steins, lively Bavarian tunes, and plenty of traditional bites to line the stomach.

The festival kicks off in the Oasis space with German band Die Notenhobler, who’ll be powering the evening entertainment with their signature folk tunes. If you fancy testing your endurance between sets, there are three classic Oktoberfest competitions to join: the Mighty Mug Hold Challenge, where contenders must outlast each other while holding a full stein at shoulder height; the Drinking Challenge, a race to see who can down a litre of beer the quickest; and the Balloon Burst Bonanza, where contestants must pump and pop a balloon in the fastest time.

As for the noms, the event reunites Stormies with Chef's Market to deliver an authentic taste of Munich for festival-goers. Chefs Angelo McDonnell and Frankfurt native Jörn Henninger are heading the kitchen, serving up a hearty feast of roasted pork knuckles, grilled Nuremberg sausages, and apple strudel – all to be paired with steins full of crisp Löwenbräu or malty Franziskaner Weissbier.

Sundays are geared towards families, with dedicated afternoon sessions running from 3pm to 7pm. Die Notenhobler will swap out their usual setlist for German children’s songs, while face painting, craft workshops, and game booths keep younger guests busy. They’ll even get their own stein-style kiddie mugs to mark the occasion.

Passes are up for grabs online via chefs-market.com.hk or the Chef’s Market mobile app. Adult entry starts from $200, which gets you a glass of beer (500ml), a choice of main course, a souvenir mug, and a festive hat. Tickets for kids cost $130, bundled with juice, a mini burger, fries, gelato, plus their own souvenir mug and hat set.
