Swap your usual G&T for these eight new quirky sips

Ever wondered what a late-night bowl of tong sui would taste like if you added a heavy pour of spirits? Well, you don’t have to imagine it any more.
The Mira’s open-air bar lounge Vibes has crafted a brand-new cocktail menu dedicated to the everyday flavours of Hong Kong. Inspired by everything from corner shops and herbal pharmacies to cha chaan tengs and dessert shops, the ‘Memories of Our Years’ collection features eight inventive creations that turn local neighbourhood spots into a series of unexpected drink pairings.
Highlights include the ‘First Moon Yuet’, a nod to the traditional Cantonese celebration that marks a baby’s first month. Drawing on the sweet, warming flavours of classic Chinese vinegar pork trotters, the team has blended jalapeño-infused tequila, ginger liqueur, sweet Pat Chun vinegar, and egg white into a tangy, savoury drink finished with a soy-infused quail egg.
Chinese medicine also makes its way behind the bar with the ‘Kowloon Highball’, which pairs baijiu with red date syrup, lemon, and goji berry-hawthorn soda, while ‘Ka Ying Che’ stacks plum, umeshu, and lemon under a Nin Jiom Pei Pa Koa cough syrup foam.
If all that sounds a bit too adventurous for a Friday evening, there are other tipples on the menu inspired by classic comfort staples. ‘Mr Yuen Yeung’ captures cha chaan teng culture with Earl Grey gin and Ceylon tea topped with condensed milk syrup and coffee foam. There’s also ‘Tong Shui Po’, which turns sweet sesame soup into a boozy treat with black sesame-infused vodka, mango purée, and coconut cream. Meanwhile, ‘Misty Pu Er’ brings the tea house experience up to date by shaking Pu’er-infused tequila with lime, agave, and yuzu foam.
The storytelling continues off the glass, too. Vibes’ physical menu comes wrapped in an embossed neon-style cover, filling each page with colourful illustrations and historical context for the neighbourhood haunts behind the recipes.
The Memories of Our Years collection is now available at Vibes, with each cocktail starting from $128. Head over to the hotel website to browse the full menu.
