It’s durian season! Head to Hotel Icon to celebrate this pungent fruit with the season’s best Malaysian durians. From July 30 to September 4, feast on various durian treats at the three hour-long buffet at Silverbox Ballroom (available on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays). Executive chef Danny Ho retains his title as Hotel Icon’s Durian Prince by creating exotic durian-infused dishes for guests to indulge in. Durian dishes on offer will include double-boiled durian and abalone soup boiled with Chilean abalone (8 heads per catty) in rich chicken broth. Along with other durian-infused dishes like deep-fried chicken rolls stuffed with D24 durian and glutinous rice, durian cereal prawn with salted egg yolk, as well as sweet treats like pandan durian roulade cake; the selection of dishes are endless. As the festival’s highlight, each diner will receive a complimentary platter of five different types of premium durian, including D197 Musang King, D163 Horlor, Highland XO, D88, and a mystery breed that makes its debut in Hong Kong. Make your reservations here.
