Kanezakaei

Though technically not a street stall, Kanezakaei is a great place to hit up for a taste of Japan’s popular street snack, takoyaki. The version here is as big as a tennis ball and comes with a boatload of fillings. The classic Japanese flavour is the biggest seller, stuffed with 10 different ingredients, including a whole quail’s egg, corn, cabbage, bacon, clams, sausage and, of course, octopus. This fist-sized mega-snack is designed to be enjoyed with the store’s homespun condiments like mentaiko salad, Japanese wasabi and tobiko cheese.
